Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)

This is a concept that holds the manufacturers or producers of a product responsible for the entire life cycle of their products. This includes their disposal or recycling. The idea is to shift the responsibility of disposal back to the companies which encourages them to design their products with the end in mind. By implementing EPR it will encourage companies to be more environmentally conscious in their product design and hopefully promote the use of more sustainable materials.
